More About Babylon Berlin Season 2:
I honestly love the film noir type, and series one of Babylon Berlin guaranteed a lot: dim, light-lit Berlin roads from the rebellious Weimar Republic time; a tortured, morphine-dependent analyst experiencing post-WWI PTSD; pre-Nazi age; socialists, patriots, and counter-progressives bumping dangerously to fill a power vacuum; secret militaries; extravagant, salacious clubs; taken gold; and police defilement. It had everything and was as rich and as thick as it sounds.
As a German James Ellroy novel brought to the little screen, series one some of the time battled to fit everything in, and when it habitually attempted things needed to skip and moxie, and it was, on occasion, tangled.
