Mackay was just 16 years old at the time of her first feature film, “So Vam,” a coming-of-age, queer vampire story, which also calls attention to bigotry and proves once again that a good movie doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.

Directed by MacKay from a script by Benjamin Pahl Robinson (T Blockers) and written by MacKay (Bad Girl Boogey) follows a group of teenagers who become amateur detectives after their friends start being murdered by a mysterious masked killer who targets transgender and queer people in their small town.
