The title translates to “The Magician’s Sword” in Japanese. The movie is named after the Magician himself, who was also the creator of the manga series. The film is also known as “Black Clover” in Japanese, which means “The Wizard King” in Chinese and “Hepburn” in English. It was directed and produced by the same company as the manga series, Pierrot, and is based on the same name. The movie was also released in Japanese on the same day as the manga, on Shochiku.
The first Black Clover film in the series will tell a brand new story. The protagonist, Asta, will come face-to-face with the late Wizard King, as well as a host of new and old characters. While we don’t know much about the plot of the film, we do know that it’s going to be full of epic battles and gorgeous animation. We’ll keep you updated as more details become available.
