More About Black Mirror Season 5:
Danny hosts his wife Theo’s birthday party. His ex-boyfriend, Karl, introduces him to a new game called “Striking Vipers,” which they had played together before. It’s a fighting game that now takes place in a virtual reality environment. Danny plays Lance and Karl as Roxette, feeling all the physical sensations of each character’s body. After a few rounds of combat, they end up falling on top of each other and kissing. They start having sex in the VR game.
At their wedding anniversary Danny’s wife, Theo, notices that he’s become more withdrawn and breaks off his engagement with Karl. Theo invites Karl to Danny’s next birthday party. They argue, then have sex again in VR. They try to kiss in real life but agree there’s no chemistry between them. After a physical altercation, they get arrested overnight. Later on, Danny agrees to play the game with Karl as part of a deal, while Theo heads to a bar with her wedding ring missing and meets strangers.
