More About Bright 2:

Lucas Shaw, a reporter for Bloomberg, has confirmed that Netflix has likewise shelved plans to advance Bright 2, the follow-up to the 2017 film directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith. In Bright, Smith played Daryl Ward, a Los Angeles Police Department detective in a fictional version of the city where humans and mystical creatures coexist.

Smith was expected to reprise his role in Bright 2. The original Bright film was not well-received by critics, but was reported to have been one of the most successful Netflix films of all time. Consequently, it was no surprise that a sequel to Bright 2 was announced in January 2018, and now, four years later, the project has been officially shelved. Additionally, the film was remade into an animated series, Bright: samurai soul, in 2021. It is currently unclear if any further Bright projects will be released on Netflix.
