More About Nimona:

In a futuristic, medieval-fantasy world, the citizens are under the protection of the Institute of Elite Knights, founded by Gloreth, the heroine of the story. A thousand years ago, Gloreth defeated a monster known as the “Great Black Monster”, and the kingdom was fortified with a high wall to protect it. Ballister Boldheart, a commoner, is about to become a knight with the help of his friend and confidant, Ambrosia Goldenloin, Gloreth’s son.

Ballister is to be the first of the ordinary people to be knighted, but Queen Valerin wants to change the tradition so that anyone can be a hero. During the process, Valerin gets killed by a mysterious laser blast from Ballister’s sword. Ballister is falsely accused of the crime and is hunted down by the Institute and their Director.

With a robotic prosthetic arm in his hands, Ballister hides and is visited by the mysterious teenage shapeshifter Nimona, who has been persecuted for her powers. Nimona sees a “villainous spirit” in Ballister because of his commoner background and the assassination of the Queen and hires him as her new sidekick.
