More About The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 1:

The story follows the Conklins, consisting of Bell, her brother Steven and her mother Laurel, as they spend each summer at Cousins Beach with Bell’s best friend Susannah Fisher and her sons Conrad and Jeremiah.

Bell has been in a relationship with Conrad since the age of twelve, but he claims to only recognize her as a “little girl”. Upon their arrival, Bell and Laurel notice that he is acting aloof, and Bell attempts to confront him about it but is distracted by Jeremiah and Steven who are with Conrad at the beach for a bonfire party. At the suggestion of her friend Taylor, Bell sneaks out to attend the bonfire, where she witnesses Conrad kissing Nicole, whom he had escorted to the debutante ball the previous year.

After a disagreement with Conrad and Steven, Bell sits alone. A boy named Cam approaches Bell, and the two become acquainted; they end up kissing. At the end of the party, Conrad is involved in a drunken altercation and the police break up the party. Bell decides to accept the invitation from Susannah to become a debutante.
