The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 follows a group of survivors in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. The group is led by Rick Grimes, a former sheriff who is trying to keep his group alive in a world overrun by the undead. Rick‘s group is constantly on the move, scavenging for supplies and weapons while avoiding the hordes of walkers that are roaming the city.

They are also trying to stay one step ahead of other survivors who are just as desperate as they are. As the group struggles to survive, they must deal with both physical and psychological trauma. The constant threat of the walkers and other survivors take a toll on the group, and each member must find a way to cope with their own fears and anxieties. Rick and the group eventually come across a small safe haven in the city, the Alexandria Safe–Zone.
