Truth is stranger than fiction. That’s what Sundance TV’s new true crime drama, Look Into My Eyes, is trying to prove. The plot sounds like it could be straight out of a Lifetime movie, but the events are based on actual events. So, what’s the story? In 2011, North Port High School in Florida experienced the sudden death of three students in mysterious circumstances.

Parents and the media were left in shock as it was revealed that all three students were part of a hypnotic study conducted by beloved school principal Dr. George Kenney. Kenney initially denied what happened, but eventually admitted to hypnotizing students to help them improve their grades. He did not have a license as a therapist. Kenney was placed on administrative leave and a bitter lawsuit began.

The show’s executive producers are Jason Blum (Blumhouse Television), Chris McCumber, and Jeremy Gold, as well as Anchor Entertainment’s Ethan Goldman and KeAYr Braxton. The show’s director is Brent Hodge, who is well-known for his work on acclaimed docs like Pharma Bro and I am Chris Farley.
