More About Wham! :
The story of Wham! starts with Ridgeley’s first meeting with Michael, who he had known since he was 12 years old and Michael had 11 years old. The film follows the pop duo’s journey through home videos and never before seen archive footage. The entire film is framed together using a huge series of scrapbooks filled with articles and photographs documented by Ridgeley throughout the course of the film.
The film talks about how they recorded their first demo tape, a full version of “Wham Rap!” and a part of “Careless Whisper” recorded in “Ridgeley’s front room”. In March 1982, they signed a record deal with the record label Innervision Records.
Wham!’s first single “Enjoy What You Do”, did not reach number one in the official charts of the United Kingdom, but was a major breakthrough for the band after they performed “Young Guns(Go for It)” on Top of The Pops in November of 1982. The single rose to number 3 in the charts.
